DICK MAAS

Dutch director Dick Maas got his start creating short films before moving into films that emphasized black comedy and horror, sometimes combined. His film De Lift featured a storyline about a killer elevator, and later slasher film Amsterdamned combined humor and murder mystery along with action stunt sequences. Maas would work on his film and TV productions of Flodder until 1998. He went on to remake his own De Lift with The Shaft, and 2010 saw him return to horror with the holiday-themed Sint.
