Resident Evil: The Final Chapter recently released on Blu-Ray and DVD, and that film seemed to put the ax in any potential sequels. However, it looks like the Resident Evil films are going the Friday the 13th route and undermining the weight of the word “final,” with Constantin Film chairman Martin Koszkowicz announcing a reboot for the future at Cannes Film Festival. While no details have been confirmed and the return of franchise director Paul W.S. Anderson is questionable, there’s certainly a glimmer of light for the franchise – in particular, the hopes that this timethe film adaptations of Resident Evil will actually be good.
