Horror Movie Poster of the Day: THE STRANGLER OF BLACKMOOR CASTLE

Today’s Horror Movie Poster of the Day is a 1963 krimi film based on Bryan Edgar Wallace’s novel. Krimi films are, like gialli, heavily stylized affairs, and they often got similar pulpy titles and excellent cover artwork emphasizing murderous masked killers and Gothic villas. As the poster for The Strangler of Blackmoor Castle illustrates, those ideas are in full force in the film.

In general, The Strangler of Blackmoor Castle is influenced by even earlier events like the Jack the Ripper legend, and it follows a gruesome series of murders where the victims are strangled, branded with an M, and then decapitated. Nothing like overkill, right?
